Fricker Returns to Aussie Racing Cars
July 4, 2010

Former Aussie Racing Car champion Richard Fricker will return to the series for Round 4 at Phillip Island, July 10-11, driving the FW1 Racing Formula VY Commodore.

Fricker also raced in the opening round of the series at the Clipsal 500, and Round 3 at Queensland Raceway, where he won the Masters Cup round ahead of team-mate Darren Chamberlain.

“I was given the opportunity to race in the series this year by the founder of the Aussie Racing Car Series, Phil Ward, and also my sponsor, FW1 Racing Formula,” Fricker said.

“The Aussie Racing Car Series is one of the best categories in Australia. The cars are very evenly-matched and they are very exciting to drive as well. You have to drive them on a knife’s edge to get the most out of them, and there is instant feedback through the steering wheel. The adrenaline rush you get from driving an Aussie Racing Car is really addictive.

“The competition is very fair as well, because everyone is racing with the same equipment. The race results come down to driver ability rather than who has the biggest chequebook. This makes the racing very close, and you can never work out who’s going to win an Aussie Racing Car race until the very last lap!”

Fricker has also been contesting the 2010 NSW Supersports Series in his Radical SR3. Fricker carries the Number 1 plate in that series by virtue of winning the title last season.

“The Supersports category is great fun and the Radical is an awesome car to drive, but the Aussie Racing Car Series provides you with entertaining racing not equalled by any other category in Australia,” Fricker concluded.
